Crazy Girls Running Around Streets of San Francisco

On Sunday I was out and about and ran into this gaggle of girls. They were in some crazy costumes with wigs and makeup and stripes. They had a portable music player with them playing some weird French remix thing. I can only guess that it was to inspire them for poses as they had a photographer with them. I can’t even begin to imagine what it was all about.

Tunnel Leading to Point Bonita Lighthouse

Tunnel Leading to Point Bonita Lighthouse San Francisco

Photograph of the tunnel carved through the rock leading out to Point Bonita Lighthouse. The lighthouse is only open a few days a week and the hike getting there isn’t too bad, it’s the hike back that can be killer. It is a very steep incline. Parking in the area is limited as are any means for drinking water, so bring plenty of water, your hiking shoes and don’t be in a big hurry.

Point Bonita Lighthouse is located on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco in Marin County. Leaving from San Francisco you’ll want to take the Sausalito exit right after the bridge. You’ll turn right onto Alexander Ave. Turn left on Bunker Rd/Danes Dr and wait your turn to go through the one way tunnel. Follow Bunker Rd. until you get to Field Rd. Turn left onto Field Road and keep going. you’ll pass the old Nike Missile Base and shortly after on your right will be a parking lot for the Lighthouse and surrounding trails.
